BLACKIE

BLACKIE
Blackie was my dad's first stray cat who he adopted.  Blackie would always follow him around the yard whenever he went out and was the first cat my dad took in.  She was my dad's best companion.

SWEET THING

SWEET THING
Sweet Thing was my favorite of my dad's cats that he took in.  He was an intact male cat who got tested positive for feline HIV after getting in several fights with Sylvester--a tabby my dad took in and tried keeping in a separate room.  Sweet Thing loved it when I brushed him and liked sleeping under the table in the bed I bought for him.

SYLVESTER

SYLVESTER

Sylvester was a stray my dad took in that tested positive for feline HIV so had to be kept separate from the other cats.  He loved being pet and was very affectionate, but did not like other cats.  He looked like a big bobcat because he was never neutered.

STRIPER

STRIPER
Striper was a climber!  He would climb on people and enjoyed riding on my dad's back.  He also climbed up to the high kitchen cupboard to get some catnip and when he got sick and didn't feel well, climbed up inside the drop ceiling in the basement!

SOFTIE
Softie and Sweet Thing were good friends and lived in the upstairs of my dad's double house.  Softie loved to play with the feather toy with me and was a very nice all black cat.  Softie was a very friendly cat.

GEORGE

GEORGE
George was a stray that a friend took in, then couldn't keep so I took him.  He was so scared of me at first, but eventually he came to be my friend.  He was a good mouser and had a funny personality.  He died at age 19 from kidney failure.
